Like-Minded is/was an alternative rock band featuring N.E. Hertzberg, Caitlin Darcy, and Ryan Mortola. Mortola and Hertzberg have over a 10-year history of performing music together, with past groups including These Branches, Osterii, and more. Darcy, an accomplished singer and songwriter on her own accord, is the longtime girlfriend of Nicholas. These three, alongside original bassist Paul Lewis, started the group in 2015 and released their debut, self-titled EP in January 2016. The album had some local radio play and received some acclaim from the music press. Their predominantly blues-rock inspired arrangements mixed in elements of post-punk, shoegaze, and country to create eclectic, assorted, and often sad tunes. Mortola made a move to Nevada in Summer of 2017, and thus the band performed their last gig at Makers Festival in Manahawkin NJ, on September 16th, 2017. They released the first of their last singles, “Arm’s Length” that day, and will be releasing their final, instrumental song “Winehouse” in the coming weeks.
